Napp Pharmaceuticals Limited (NPL) is proud to be joining other local organisations in supporting the formation of a new University Technical College in Cambridge.
In a press release issued today, plans for the development of 34 UTCs across the UK have been outlined. A new initiative in high-quality education for 14-19 year olds, UTCs are sponsored by universities and aims to give students the opportunity to undertake a full-time, technically-oriented course of study. UTCs integrate national curriculum requirements with technical and vocational elements, and their ethos and curriculum are heavily influenced by local and national employers who also provide support and work experience for students.
Speaking about our involvement in the scheme, David Silver, Finance Director, said “We are a major employer in the area, employing people with a range of skill sets, and we would benefit from motivated, enthusiastic, passionate young people ready to enter the workplace in areas of our pharmaceutical business. Supporting the UTC would give us the opportunity to shape what employers want from the next generation of employees.”
